REVIEWS:

"Escalating success as a producer and songwriter means it's been three years between Rob Lamothe albums. A Californian who moved to Canada after minor success with Riverdogs (who are still a going concern) and Aircraft (who are not), for a decade he's been making albums of sure beauty. They've been powerful and radiant, tough yet soulful and delivered in a brilliant and brittle voice. Here his consistently vivid lyrics resonate with a sometime weary eye, but their impact is none the less for that. He captures the inflections of love, the echoes of happiness and the loneliness of distance and bears them up on tunes full of warmth with a roaring heart and the undeniable power of grace under pressure." 9/10, Philip Wilding, Classic Rock Magazine

"Rob Lamothe's new CD is hands down my favorite of the year and not because I know the guy. Granted he as a soulful voice but his colorful and moody lyrics slay me. This dude has been around a long time but with a little help from a friend or a bunch of friends or a cornucopia of friend's that have money that have been saving it for a rainy day. This is your rainy day." Eric Martin (singer, Mr. Big)

"A mercurial artist who slides effortlessly from rustic roots music to soulful country pop to full-blown rock balladry, Dunnville, Ont.-based singer, songwriter, producer and session musician Lamothe has been cruising just below mainstream industry radar for more than a decade, scoring enough points from covers by other artists (Katrina & The Waves, Lowen and Navarro, Sunnyland Blues Band, Kalan Porter, Tom Wilson, Riverdogs, Joe Byrne) and playing credits - most recently he was Liam Titcomb's guitarist on Great Big Sea's cross- Canada tour - to keep veteran Canadian hard rock producer Tom Treumuth (Honeymoon Suite, Helix, Big Sugar) on line as his studio mentor. On Long Lazy Curve Treumuth and Lamothe have pushed hard into alternative guitar-rock territory on Lamothe's own fine songs and others co-written with the likes of contemporary Canadian roots music stars Titcomb, Wilson, Lynn Miles and legendary American composers Billy Falcon and Rafe Van Hoy. It's an assured and gutsy recording, lyrically turgid in parts, but honest and organic at the core." Greg Quill, Toronto Star
